چکیده
Having realized the potential for information and communication technology (ICT)’s contribution to a nation’s socio-economic, socio-technical, socio-cultural and sociopolitical development, countries have been rushing to implement ICT projects in the public sector – namely e-government, through the direct/indirect supervision of institutions such as the United Nations, the World Bank and other agencies. These projects aim to provide positive developmental impact on people’s lives at national, individual, group and community levels. This paper highlights some important perspectives on research into ICT as a tool for development in the public sector, and into Corruption, Accountability and Transparency; at the same time understanding the intentions behind the adoption and implementation of ICT interventions across the globe. The research proposes two frameworks to encourage further investigation into ICT-led projects in the public sector.
